My very exciting news is now ready to be announced!

I have just launched my new website and new photography blog. So, this blog is no longer going to be updated.

And check out my new website www.jenniferstocksphotography.com.au it is filled with images from the many portfolio building sessions I have been doing over the last 6-8 months or so.

Thanks to everyone who took part in my portfolio building sessions! They were loads of fun and we got some fantastic shots.

So from today 25th August 2008 - my portfolio building deal is no longer available, unless a session has already been booked with me.

All clients who participated in my portfolio building deals will be entitled to 15% off my new digital package and other products for the next 12 months.

So, this blogsite has officially been overwritten by a new one! Please take a look at my new site and blog when you get a chance!

Some exciting news for my business

It has been a long time since I have posted, and my poor little blog has been a big neglected.

Things have been a bit crazy of late. I have still been doing photo sessions (and have not posted many sneek peeks of late, as i've been directing most of my energy into creating a gorgeous NEW website. Yeppo - my photography has gone from a blog to a proper 'big girl' website, and I must say I am very happy with the result - it is lovely and crisp and professional. Yay.

KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE LINK WHICH WILL APPEAR ON HERE SOON!

ALSO, I am creating a new super fancy blog. Images will be BIGGER and I will be able to tailor my blog to suit being a photographer more.

So, these things are VERY exciting for me on a business level.

On a personal level, I must say I am one very lucky lady to have such a gorgeous husband and 2 very beautiful boys who make me so so so happy... My 2 year old (3 in October) is so sweet with the things he says at the moment. I just love new words like 'brilliant', and when he says "Mummy, you are so nice to me!". My 1 year old has the most cracking laugh ever. Even when he's been a little monkey, I just can't get cranky at him. He has personality plus.

Weddings are not usually something I do, but I agreed to photograph some family friends on their wedding day, and had a blast. This was my first ever wedding and I had help from a great photographer friend, Penny, who second shot for me.

We had a great day, learned a lot, and have some great images to share. These are just a sneak peek of some of my faves from the day. I haven't finished proofing yet - I am just working through the shots from Mt Panorama, and still have plenty more to go.

I had the chance to photograph a beautiful baby girl (4 weeks old) on Friday. She was incredibly gorgeous, and a gem to photograph. She went all sleepy and curly for us, and barely even cried..... Her parents were obviously smitten with her, but I was also amazed at how smitten they still were with each other after being together for 14 years. There was a lot of mutual love and respect in their home. Well, guys.... here is a sneaky peek for y'all. I hope you love them! Your gallery will be ready really soon as I have knuckled down and am close to finishing them now! Thanks for letting me take portraits of your beautiful family.

I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely farming family from out west when they came to town. We had a change of plans last minute (do to it being way too sunny to shoot in the open) and ended up at the park, and surrounding buildings. We had a few extras including another beautiful family I had photographed this year, as the two mums are sisters. This made for lots of fun, and there was a really amazing connection between the two sisters (kind of like they were a pair of 8 year olds sharing a bedroom - minus the fighting). The two mums even had matching smiles! So, here's a sneak peek for you all - I hope you like!!!

Well, it's been a busy week and between sick kiddos I have managed to get your sneak peek ready! This is my second session from the weekend - these guys were loads of fun, and mum and dad were still like high-school sweethearts. Their three girls were all beautiful, and each had their own particular funky style. We also had a their great-grandmother and one of the girls mates over so that added to the fun. It was freezing and their was no good light - we really had to hunt the house to find it - as for going outside - dreamin'! Thanks for getting me to take your portraits guys and here is your little sneak peek.

I had the opportunity to photograph 2 beautiful families on the weekend, in a different little town to my own. It was a freezing day! All the images were taken inside, except for a a handful in the last few minutes or so. I was shaking in my boots (only from the cold) so I can only imagine how cold the kiddies were! I was so lucky to photograph this sweet little girl and her mummy on Tuesday (after being stalked by someone who wanted to snatch my bags - lucky, these guys came at the right time so I didn't have to pull any kung-fu moves).

Well, I am finally getting through these shots from Wednesday! I'm still plodding through them and have about 1/3rd left to go. Anyway, I was so happy to photograph these gorgeous little people - 2 boys and a girl (hooray - I get so excited about girls at the moment as I'm so used to taking pictures of my own boys and nephews all the time!). These guys were each others family friends and came for the session at the same time - so they aren't all siblings. I also managed to take a few pics of a few slightly resistant parents (one in particular, ahem) in amongst it all. These kids did not fail to disappoint me either - all gorgeous, and both Mr J's were so good at pulling blue steel faces for me, while little miss M became as sweet as Tinkerbell the minute she stepped into her fairy wings, skirt and wand.

I love some of these shots, and I hope you guys do too. Thanks for getting me to do this session for your kids - I had a great time, and got some great shots as well!

I had the pleasure of photographing these beautiful kids this week. They were so great. We also snuck in a few of mummy for good measure! Little miss C was so smiley, and I had a fun time photographing Mr B in his Spiderman suit (which he was adamant he was going to wear). I am so excited about the near arrival of my sisters baby. Her and her husband are wonderful parents, and will no doubt be fantastic with their new baby too! I did up a groovy storyboard to hang on our wall at home and it's at the lab as we speak. I used some photos from the last few weeks to save going back through all my old stuff. If anyone doesn't know what a storyboard is - what you see below is exactly what it looks like when it gets back from the printers - no matte board is necessary at all! You just frame it and voila!

Our family has been blessed with a little tribe of boys - I have 1 niece and 6 nephews, and they are all under 4! My sister has another one on the way - due in 3 weeks and I'm guessing we'll be getting another blue one!

My nephew is clearly a little muscle man. He is such a cutie pie, and is very easily bribed for photo's. He does exactly what you tell him to do with little fuss at all - as long as there's something in it for him at the end! He even pulled his best happy face, and his best grumpy face - as you can see at the bottom of this post!

I had a little photo session with a lovely family from out of town. How could I not take pics of these beautiful kids?? We also managed to squeeze in a few family shots at the end just as the light was leaving us. I've just noticed the colour looks a bit flat and grey in these pics and realised I didn't change the colour profile for the web - I will have to get around to doing that. They look much more colourful and better off the web! I still have heaps more for you guys, but these are just a few! I loved photographing your family so much.

One would think I would be bored of taking photo's in our backyard - but it is amazing how different every occasion is, and how different all the images turn out.... These are of my boys. Dusty is a crazed Thomas the Tank Engine fan, and this singlet is his favourite piece of clothing. I also just love the warmth of the shot of my little Beau, showing his blonde whispy hair so beautifully.

I just love to catch my boys smiling - it doesn't happen very often with my oldest son - he is usually happy as a pig in mud - but bring out the camera and the smiles disappear! I had the pleasure of photographing Mel, Kate & Belle just recently (and Mel's boyfriend too!) They were fantastic, and Belle even carried my camera bag around for me! All such beautiful girls, but really different too... It was the worst day and time for taking photo's - the sun was almost right above us, so we had to find some shade, many of them being very small patches of shade, or wing it in full sun..... They had a cool old purple/pink car there, and I thought it would be super cool in photo's (it was also one of our patches of shade), and I love the way they turned out. Hope you guys like the photo's....Haven't got many of Mel done yet, but they will come real soon.......

Gorgeous little Will - I managed to snap him the one and only time he agreed to put his hand on his mum's tummy.

Will & his mum's tummy together! We bribed him into laying here by giving him a lollie. He had one scrunched up in the side of his teeth for this shot!

I love this one - it's got a real urban acid feel about it.

Probably my favourite - it shows pregnant women still have magnificent figures.

And laying in bed reading a book on baby names, as you do.....Added a bit of texture to this one and LOVE it! I've done the same with a few of these shots and think the effect is really super cool.

My sister is 29 weeks pregnant and is still looking stunning. Since she is my sister I decided I wanted to do something a bit more 'out there', which I love to do - it's just hard knowing whether people like it or not! Our boys got spinning tops for Christmas this year - takes me back to my own childhood! I thought I would have fun with Will, getting him to smile for me while we spun the tops around and around. Bathurst Family Day Care Calendar

Here's a sneak peek of some of the photo's that will be going into the fundraising calendar for 2008 - although only a small minority of these have been selected for the calendar, I am offering individual prints to any parent/carer who is interested. These photo sessions were loads of fun; the children were little champions and many were even happy to strike a pose for me....I was fortunate enough to take some individual and small group portraits of some of the children at these sessions which I just love to do - I love to capture the eyes! Unfortunately, I was unable to take individual shots at each photo session due to time constraints. It also depended on whether the kids were willing. Regardless, I hope you see something you like, and that you will purchase a calendar or two to help raise money for the Family Day Care Office to build their sandpit.

I will be posting contact sheets for all of these sessions on my photography blog (this page here) as attempts at emailing the slideshows to interested parents and carers proved to be a very troublesome exercise (zip compressed files just didn't make things small enough to send). I hope this will be a good alternative for viewing photo's! You can view the photo's larger by clicking on the image - but if you would like to see any particular photos larger, please let me know and I will arrange to email these to you.

As mother to my two little boys, I am constantly inspired to catch these little babes in photographs. My youngest Beau, is 9 months and recently sat still long enough for me to take the following shots. Despite the impracticality of wearing a hat but no clothes, I thought this was a really fun idea.
